This year has been a very interesting year. We started out very well but snow days began to slow us down then we lost a wireless router after we came back which was a huge huge problem. But when we got our things together we began to make progress. I learned alot from my peers and made good progress on my game here is a link to my project page to show my work

I believe that when we complete at least the first level. I think we will fit the criteria except for sound. I personally have to learn some whale facts. But i hope for it to be a good presentation.

So with each team overall i see some very signicant progress. Sarahellen and tylers game is probably the farthest along on there game. Dakotas and forests game has some impressive graphics. Silas's game looks like it will be a very entertaining. Hannahs game is also coming along she just needs to get her boundry code. Marks pedies and zachs game has alot of potential. Andrew has the idea for his game. Casey's game has some very intersting art work.

I plan on working on the scrolling background during the next classes. and hopefully i will have a wiki up. i dont belive i can work on it at home. i can blog outside of class however. I belive that aaron will come up with the soundtrack or i might use garage band to create the soundtrack.

So this year we have had numerous setbacks.
One, we had many many snowdays, and two our wireless router was stolen from our wing. Therefore it gave us less time to complete our games. We need to learn how to create a side scroller. Then hopefuly i would like to at least complete one or two levels. Five was the original plan. But I do not believe that will happen.

today i made a new wiki and uploaded the fla and swf. And then embedded it. Other than that i didnt do anything else.

Lately I personally have not uploaded any files to the wiki. Aaron although has uploaded artwork and facts for our game. I'm waiting on the scrolling background tutorial for our game. Than I will be uploading some coding etc. Personally I don't think I have uploaded enough flash files. Considering I have not uploaded any. But I will be uploading ASAP.

Unfortunatly I do not feel like we are very far. So far we have the menu and the level select screen. We also have random whale fact slides created. But we have to wait to get the tutorial for the side scrolling background. Team Better Than Your Team has entered the S.T.E.M contest. We hope to be successful in the competition. here are some photos from our game.

Anything you can do I can do better. This thief of our router should be very ashamed. I believe if we invested in that sentry gun.

That theif would have thought twice about stealing our router. Or we could've trained a fierce mutant mountain lion like this

Well anyway the theif should have not taken our router. I dont understand why the theif stole the router but screwed the case back to the wall.

I'm still pondering on why they did that.

Design and Development Plan.

I think that to complete our game we have to get the basic controls and template for the levels. After we have that done we can customize each level to where the game is. We have to complete the coding for all the objects and the scenes. After that we just can change different things speeding it up and making the game harder.

My Resolutions are to 1. Complete my game and have it being successful and fully functional. 2. I want to have a better understanding of coding and have more codes in my arsenal. 3. I want to learn more about what is going on in other classes and see what they are accomplishing as well.

Our team better than your team progress is somewhat pretty good considering we dont meet everyday. We have a title screen with workable buttons and a level select. Globalorian Progress and other classes

I traveled to the land of Springfield High School in Huntington West Virginia. I looked at jacobs profile and he had an interesting flash movie and the projects were behind us in most ways but farther in some. They basically took a different path with less progress. They had movement coding and interesting borders coding.
Globaloria this semester so far has been an interesting experience. This class is defiantly alot different than other classes. I'm learing ALOT. I came into this class blindfolded just about this subject and now i know what im doing. I really like to see my game unfold with progress.

Well in the last couple of classes we have started to code unto our flash games. To begin the process we started with the title screen and coded the object to be a BUTTON!
Our button takes us to the how to play screen and back to the main menu. This step excites me on the way our game is slowly unfolding.

Team Phyllis

This team probably has one of the best game ideas in the class i personly think.

Their game is History Attacks. In this game a person opens a book and these

tyrants and dictators from allover the past and you have to find information on how

to defeat these evils of the past. Im excited to play the final product.

Well in the first semester we have came a long way. We learned to code and create things in flash. We created blogs and wikis. We ahve come along with good ideas for our games and have had unique success. We have worked hard this nine weeks and i am proud of my work.

Well the other day we were assigned teams and i was paired up with aaron grahm. Well me and aaron grahm our both apart of the tuba line in the amazing Greenbrier East Marching Band. So we know each other pretty well. My plans is to be the coder of our game and aaron be the artist. I hope that all our controls function correctly and our artwork be creative and look good.

Tonsils removed = missing school

Well in the past week a fellow student of mine got his tonsils removed. So he missed a lot of school. I had to catch him up on the mini game assignment. First we uploaded a background image and he chose a similar theme to mine (transformers) but he added a gundam theme. After we added another layer where we added a text box and changed the text to dynamic text to have it as an object. The final result was a scorebox than we added code to make his character hit the powerup and receive points. His game is now caught up to speed. The moral of the story is DON'T MISS SCHOOL.

So the in the the first weeks of school our class was introduced to the "mini game".
I have had a good experience with flash. My first impression of the actionscript was like that sounds complicated. I soon found out that with as long as you have the consistency and correct code than it can be easy. Ofcourse this has been made easier thanks to our great teacher Mr. Allder (Adler).
I think i have a pretty descent understanding of the actionscript that I am capable of being independent with the program. I believe this experience has prepared me for our classes game. My game is customized just a smidge with a transformers background and my score is modified. I also understand how to manipulate the controls and the score. I think I'm ready to take on the challenge of our game.

Technology is a very important factor in school. We use technology to keep track of attendence, grades, and money. Computers are widely used for research and in the 21st century has replaced the library. Almost every teenager in America has a cell phone. This is an amazing way of communicating, but in school it is prohibited because of the potential for someone cheating. Ipods are one of todays popular technolgies. With access to a variety of applications and the internet it has the potential for being a great learning tool. Once again they are prohibited in our school. This is the age of technology and the world is changing day by day because of technology.
